Jon Walmsley in the studio
Jon performed many original songs on The Waltons. At 19, he made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry and has since appeared as a guitarist-vocalist on television, records and stages worldwide. He has performed with such diverse artists as The Doobie Brothers, Elvin Bishop, Gregg Allman, Merle Haggard, Roy Acuff and Richard Marx.
Jon's television credits include appearances in Combat, Daniel Boone, My Three Sons, Nanny and the Professor, The Bill Cosby Show and Adam-12. He was also in the Disney film The Family Band, with Walter Brennan, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
Waltons fans may be interested to know that Jon produced, wrote or co-wrote five selections on the Walton's Christmas CD "Together Again". One of the songs written by Jon and Lisa was nominated for a DOVE Award. The CD features all of The Waltons series surviving cast members, as well as the show's creator and narrator Earl Hamner Jr.

"I always wanted to use my talent to help make the world a better place. When I met Suzanne & Kelly in 1995 and learned about what they were doing, I wanted to get involved. It has been very satisfying working with Suzanne & Kelly joining them in their commitment to helping young people. It's nice to hopefully reach out and grab these young people before they go too far, while they're still reachable."
Few fans of the enormously popular television program The Waltons are aware that the actors who played Mr. and Mrs. Jason Walton -- Jon Walmsley and Lisa Harrison -- were, in fact, a real life husband-and-wife.
